The newest discovery at our house are the DVD rentals at McDonald's. They are so easy and SO cheap. For $1.00 you can choose from about 30 movies that they keep in the little red kiosk outside. Aside from standing in the cold (like I did on Saturday) and the rain (like I did today) it is totally worth the location and accessibility.
On Saturday, Scott and I rented the Simpson's movie. It was not what the hype made it out to be. However, for the $1 - it was certainly a bargain filled evening.
We have since rented Underdog, Enchanted and Holiday. Yep, 4 movies in 3 days. It MUST be Spring Break! Lainie is watching Enchanted right now. We saw Underdog last night. Cute, but silly. Great for kid movie night and I am going to watch Holiday after Lainie goes to sleep today.
Now I just have to remember to drive past a McDonalds again before 9 PM tomorrow night. That and resist the temptation of running inside for a large fry every time I am in the vicinity. No fry, no fry, no fry............

I'm totally here!! My blogging slid off for a bit with life and all getting in the way, but Spring Break has started...the sun is shining today, and I FEEL AWESOME!!! Woo-hoo!!

So, the first thing I will leave you with are some fun easter Egg hut pictures from last weekend at home with the fam. It was so fun. Easter is my second favorite holiday (behind Halloween) and it is my Mother's all time favorite. She goes out more in the cooking department for this holiday than all others. I love the dying of the eggs part. In fact, I think we still do it because I like it so much....has nothing to do with Lainie! (That's not true!)
We got to see my my brother, Jessica, Mom, Dad and grandmother and then some friends from high school. We visited my home church which is always awesome! They are currently searching for a new minister at FCC Maysville, so I wish them all sortsof luck. (I miss that church!) It was a nice weekend....even with 98% of the town was in Lexington for the Boys basketball state tournament! Super job winning that one boys!

I am sad that Kentucky lost. I haven't been 100% tuned in this year with the team as I have been in year's past, but it hurts just the same.
Scott cooked supper tonight. What a great guy! He made us "breakfast." He can whip that stuff up faster than any meal I have ever seen him cook. Now mind you, the kitchen is a bloddy mess when he is finished (I mean literally standing puddles of ? on the counters,) but hey, I didn't have to cook, so what do I care? He loves cooking breakfast and is amazingly good at it too! We had cracked pepper grits (oh my goodness....his are the BEST), scrambled eggs with keilbasa, crispy bacon and biscuits. It was so yummy.
Today was a productive day. I actually crossed three major projects off my list today (uh - that NEVER happens and certainly not all at once.) I even had a good "working with the kids moment" today, which I loved. As the 5th graders wandered to the bathroom one by one the last hour of school (as they are notorious for doing) I made them answer levels and branches of government questions that refered to the large matrix poster I was putting up in the hallway beside the bathrooms. After asking 5 kids in 10 minutes, I eventually had over 20 kids "roaming" the halls, looking for me to question them on the Social Studies questions. At one point, I felt either the large pack of students or myself would get in trouble with some of their teachers down the hall! (Sorry Mr. D + Mr. S) Mrs. H and Mrs. P....you'd been proud...over 80% knew the answer to the questions. Good job ya'll!! It was funny and totally worth it!!

Lainie was so excited to get home today. She knew we were going to have special visitors tonight at her T-Ball game. My parents, Nannie and Pappaw were driving in from Maysville to come and see the game.
After a quick supper at Subway (I just love my "salad sandwich" as Lainie calls it - my Veggie Sub), we all headed over to the YMCA.
Lainie did a great job hitting and throwing. I was able to video tape her going around all of the bases, and Mom, Dad and I sat close enough that I could get batting shots of all of the kids on the team. I am thinking of printing these off and giving them to the Moms & Dads in the group. Maybe they will enjoy theirs as much as I love seeing Lainie's "action shots."
Tonight was also the first night I got to be the Cub's Team Mom. Dorky, I know....but I was excited! Lainie helped me pick out Strawberry & Kiwi Capri Suns (Low Cal even!). They were delish! She was tickled to have everyone take some of the special team juices that her Mommy brought. I couldn't help but smile. I kinda like being a team Mom. (I always knew I would - particularly for the INSIDE sports!) HA!!!!

Today Lainie spent over an hour outside driving her car in the front yard. All - by - herself! I am loving the fact that she is old enough to venture out into the world on her own, but I still feel guilty that I am not right in the middle of her fun. I know you are supposed to "give them space" and I really do try (sometimes because I'm plain busy and sometimes due to forcing myself to leave her alone.) Today she wore treds through the grass with the circle after circle she made with her Ford F150 Monster Truck. (Can you tell which part of Santa Claus influenced that purchase?) We love you Daddy! Lainie and I can't wait until the Bluegrass Museum Remodeling Project is complete so Daddy can enjoy our afternoon rides too! Miss you Daddy!
